Getting Ready for your Big Move

When you are getting ready to move, there is a lot that goes into it and a lot that you need to prepare ahead of time. Knowing what to do when you are moving materials and you are packing to move can save you a lot of time. You want to be sure that you know all the steps when you are packing to move so that you are able to make the process go as smooth as it can and make it so that you are able to get a move that isn’t so stressful for you.

• Make a Moving Packing List
  One of the best things that you can do when you are packing to move is make a moving packing list. With a moving packing list, you are going to be able to write down all the steps that you have to take and really organize them so that you are able to get them done and mark them off as you get them done. It is so important to have a list when you are packing to move so that you aren’t stressing and trying to remember if you have done everything that you need to.
• Get as Much Done as You Can Ahead of Time
  Another huge thing that you want to do when you are getting ready to move is make sure that you are getting as much done ahead of time as you can. You want to be sure that you are doing things like getting utilities taken care of, getting bills switched out of your name, cancelling a cable service, and doing all of that. Taking the time to do this ahead of time will save you a lot of time when you are getting to the days of your move, and it is stuff that you shouldn’t be doing that day.
• Pack Items You Aren’t Using Now
  If there is stuff that you aren’t using now, be sure that you are packing it away. You really want to go ahead and get anything out of season packed away so that it isn’t in your way and so that you are able to get one step ahead. Pack all the clothes that the kids aren’t wearing, pack away the Christmas decorations, and get parts of the house packed up that you can live without so that there isn’t so much when you are down to crunch time.
